Is it Marcelo Rios?
18 titles lifetime
7 titles in one year..... then just 11 titles for the rest of his career. Crazy
391-192 ..... Lifetime record --- 67.1% winning percentage
51-26 ......... Grand slam ------- 66.2%
22-39 ......... Versus Top 10 ---- 36.1%
17-13 ......... Finals -------------- 56.7%
He never made it out of the Quarters in a slam.... except one time. He made one finals and got pounded.
So in all of his slam appearances only one time was he able to win more than 4 more matches. Incredible!
He just might be the most overrated player of all time. He had one hot year and that was it. In 1997 he was in the top 10. In 1998 he was #1. In 1999 he was in the top 10. All the other years he was out of it and was either ascending before that period or descending afterwards.
A wasted talent and lazy. If you have the talent to be #1, you should be in the Top 10 for about a 6-8 year period. Also, a career of only about 10 years..... speaks to laziness and lack of preparation and seriousness.
